Easy ways to support the project
Bringing the Goods Shed back to life has involved our community in a magnificent fundraising effort. Starting with less than £2,000 in the kitty in 2013, local people, organisations and grant-making trusts contributed well over £230,000 to the project in just three years.
Tetbury Town Council secured the refurbishment and extension of the shed with a contribution of £350,000 in 2016. The Rail Lands Trust will invest over £100,000 in early 2017 to install seating, a digital cinema and sound system and acoustic double glazing, and to fit-out the kitchen and admin office.
When you think that some similar projects, such as the Campbeltown Cinema in Scotland, will cost £3 million or more, it shows what great value the Goods Shed is for Tetbury.
Nevertheless, we need to raise more funds to fulfill the full vision for the Shed and its surroundings. This will include a static railway carriage (for classes, meetings and maybe a cafe) and a play area near the Cattle Dock Open Air Stage.
If you would like to put something into the project, there are several ways to do so:
